The ceiling area that surrounds the chandelier of the Garnier Palace - Paris Opera House built 1861 - 1875 - contains a 1964 painting by Marc Chagall. It was installed on a removable frame over the original and depicts scenes around Paris as well as performances within the Opera, including operas by 14 composers – Moussorgsky, Mozart, Wagner, Berlioz, Rameau, Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky, Adam, Bizet, Verdi, Beethoven, and Gluck.
